What to Look for in a Fuel Pump
Depending on why you want to get another fuel pump for your vehicle, there are different feature to look out for. If you are looking to provide fuel to an additional fuel tank or a surge tank, a High Volume Low Pressure (HVLP) pump will work for you. This is because you don’t need a pressurized setup with a fuel pressure regulator but you simply want to move fuel from one location to another.
A High Volume High Pressure (HVHP) pump on the other hand is used for moving high volumes of fuel and flows at higher pressure. Fuel pumps generally flow on the reverse in proportion to the fuel pressure so that when fuel pressure goes up, the fuel pump will have a lower flow. It is for this reason that it is essential that you buy a fuel pump that has been designed for high pressure conditions.
Either way you can be sure that the right kind of fuel pump is there in the market to meet your needs.
